Unit 1: Overview – The Role of Cold Messages
A cold message is your very first impression. It’s the digital version of a handshake — whether you send it by email, social media DM, or text.
Why Cold Messages Matter
- Start conversations, not close deals. The goal is to spark curiosity, not make a sale on the spot.
- Build trust fast. If the first message is spammy or pushy, the prospect won’t respond.
- Show professionalism. A clear, respectful message stands out from copy-paste spam.
- Respect attention span. Business owners are busy; they’ll only read if it feels relevant.
Golden Rules
- ✅ Keep it under 80 words
- ✅ Write in plain, human language
- ✅ Personalize with details (company name, city, reviews, etc.)
- ❌ Don’t add links or attachments in the first message
- ❌ Don’t push too hard or oversell
Remember: cold messages are conversation starters, not sales pitches.
